      Michael Doyle to Sheffield Utd?

Word's spreading that Michael Doyle is set to rejoin Mickinho Adams at Sheffield Utd.

This might well be tosh, but I won't mind if it's not. Doyle's been around for ages now, and basically his career has passed him by. His only success was when he was away at Leeds, and while he tries hard, it's about time we went our separate ways.

One of the major challenges Boothroyd faces is to try and alter the culture at our club, which has dictated for the last 10 years that finishing 14th is a nice season. Doyle is the embodiment of this culture, and could do with nipping off somewhere else now, I'd say.

I have no idea where this rumour started, but I didn't need much prompting to offer my thoughts on whether it was time for him to go or not.

So if QPR is his last game, I'd just like to say that I've enjoyed his loyalty to the club, his happiness whenever we score, and of course, the relentless bicycle kicks.

The misplaced passes, not so much.

Doyle to Leeds! I best find my hat.

I will only be eating it if Beckford comes the other way, mind.

That's right, as the rumour mill predicted last night, Doyle has moved to Leeds on a season long loan. We've now got a tiny squad, which has been made even smaller. Surely Coleman has to have someone else lined up?

I've thought for a while that it is time for him to move on. It's become obvious that while he tries, and gives us a useful backup, Doyle has become synonymous with the under-achieving mentality of the club. Not his fault, but we needed to part ways.

With the lack of incoming players and the fact that we lost a couple of our best chaps, I couldn't see him being let go before the start of the season though. Our cover for midfield now stands at Isaac Osbourne and Adam Walker, so it's getting pretty desperate I'd say.

Wonder what surprises we can expect before Sunday....

I’m sure if we had started playing keep-ball the fans would have been disappointed, but when it’s that late in the day you should probably be a bit more professional about it and settle for the one point.
Attacking and remaining professional are not mutually exclusive, Andy.

In an attempt to keep myself sane over the course of the 09/10 season, I decided to use this blog as a place to let off steam and vent my thoughts about Coventry City's progress.

That all seemed to go quite nicely (the blogging side of things, not the team performance), so two years later, and I'm still doing it - rambling away whenever there is something worth rambling about.

The plan is to focus my attention on writing in this, as opposed to indiscriminate ranting at anyone who'll listen, which always tended to be my main outlet. I never really envisaged it becoming a widely viewed Coventry City blog (as my points often annoy), but it's always good to see my posts popping up on forums with people discussing my waffle.

lt's also quite interesting to look back at how many times during the season I threaten to stop supporting them and form my own breakaway club; FC Coventry City Mönchengladbach Saint-Germain.
