While it was extremely sad to see Viktor Gyokeres leave, fortunately Coventry were compensated handsomely by Sporting following some sterling negotiation from Douglas King (with the cash continuing to flow as the deal matures).
Thanks to the Portuguese Securities Market Commission (CMVM), as a publicly traded company Sporting had to disclose details of the deal to buy Viktor from Coventry City in July 2024.
The Sky Blues received a healthy €20M transfer fee (which with be paid in chunks), along will a bunch of other benefits.

- €20M transfer fee
- €4M in add-ons (subject to individual and team achievements)
- 15% of future transfer (can be reduced to 10% depending on partial achievement of goals)
- €100M release clause
- Agent appears to get €2M
