I’d like to take a quick break from my unwavering chatter about Coventry City to draw your attention to Leon McKenzie’s autobiography “My fight with life” which is out on Thursday 29 November.
I was lucky enough to receive a copy from him and his publishers MacAnthony Media, accompanied by a letter signed by the very hand that Leon McKenzie used to pen the book.
I have to say, it’s well worth your time. He’s been through a lot has Leon. The football stories are insightful and give a genuine feel for how life went for him as a pro, while his honest and thought-provoking discussion about a battle with depression really opens your eyes.
It’s out from most good book outlets on 29 November, but is available to pre-order online now if you fancy it. As a former member of the Sky Blue family, I reckon it’d be a nice gesture if you went and gave him your support.
Let’s face it, it’s not every day you read a book in which the author can offer an anecdote about being challenged to a boxing duel by Chris Coleman..
